Craig Gallery is coming home!
On October 3 & 4, we’re opening the doors to Craig Studio – St. Paul’s – our church home and studio between Meaford and Owen Sound – for a rare Craig Family Art Show.
For one weekend, original work by Philip Craig, Shannon Craig Morphew, Jordan Craig, Jonathan Craig and Bridget Light Craig will be shown together under one roof.
After six years of Craig Gallery in downtown Meaford, this feels like a fitting next chapter.
Date/Time: Oct. 3 & 4 | 10am – 5pm
Location: Between Bognor & Walters Falls at the corner of Grey Road 29 & 1st Concession.
Parking/Accessibility: Limited Parking available in the driveways, otherwise park along 1st Concession. We will make the ground floor accessible via a ramp on our deck but the washroom and basement studio are not accessible.
Details: This is a free drop-in event!
- Philip Craig & his wife Diane will be joining us for the duration of the show. Come chat with Phil and ask him about his work.
- Basement Studio Tours happening throughout both days. Jonathan will lead interested visitors on a tour through his basement studio and workshop. Along with his original work, you can check out Jonathan’s collection of movie props, and hear stories from his days on set.
- Graffiti our bathroom! For those who want to get interactive we invite you to write, draw and paint on our bathroom walls.
- Light refreshments will be available (while they last).
- Art work will appear online post show now!
Make a Weekend of It
If you are thinking about visiting from outside the area, there is a lot happening the first weekend of October…
Autumn Leaves Open Studio Tour takes place in Grey/Bruce from Oct. 2-4. In fact, we are next door neighbours to one of the Studios on the tour, Studio F – and you may recognize the artists from Craig Gallery, Evelyne Richer and Rick Chard! Studio G – Old Soul is another place to find former Craig Gallery artists, Arlene & Chris Saunders, nearby in Walters Falls.
Apple Harvest Craft Show, one of the largest in Southern Ontario – with over 200 vendors, takes place at the Meaford Community Centre and Arena on Oct. 3-4.
Meaford Scarecrow Invasion takes place from Sept. 8 through Oct. 26 with the town invaded by Scarecrows. You may even find some near us in Bognor! Friday Oct. 2nd is the Scarecrow Parade and Festival – a family fun event. In case you didn’t know, Craig Gallery won the business window display competition last year – we hold our plaque with pride.
